Licking good

When I was young, ice cream is a luxury dessert. I remember having to save very hard for ice cream. 50 cents for a scoop and if I get more pocket money RM1.00 for the bun version which gives you 2 scoops. I get to eat that maybe once or twice a year. Back in the days, ice cream paddlers were even more popular than Barney. At least some kids will cry and hide when they see the life size Barney but no kid will will cry and hide if ice cream man comes.

Back in the days, I usually order durian or corn flavor. After that I will try to lick faster than it can melt so that not a single drop is wasted. At the same time I will try to push the ice cream down the cone with my tongue, to ensure it doesn't melt faster than I can lick and to ensure I get to eat the ice as I eat the cone. Once I tried to eat from both ends. Wrong move and stupid, good experience though.

The other day aunt had a factory open day and she has kindly invited me along. There was an old school ice cream truck and I ordered one just for old times. Every lick gives me good memories.

It's never too old to eat ice cream.
